USED TO/ BE USED TO

Spanish speakers always get confused with these expressions.
When we are talking about the past we use USED TO
Eg. I used to go to school, lessons used to start at eight thirty....

But if you talk about the present you can’t say

I use to

Instead I usually have zoom lessons

TO BE USED TO. Estoy acostumbrado

I am used to have a cup of coffee when I get up.

You can use it in any tense changing the verb to be followed always by used +to
I was used to...
I have been getting used to

Are there things that have changed in your routine?

What did you use to do?

What are you getting used to do now?

Please send a post and let me know!

REPORTED SPEECH: COMMANDS

A COMAND IS AN ORDER In english we give orders using the base form of the verb , and it is the only time we don't use a subject. Teachers and parents are used to giving orders. The government too. Stop complaining. Don't bounce. Tidy your room. Stay at home You need to introduce a verb that indicates the command immediately followed by  to + infinitive   if negative  not +to +infinitive My mom told me to stop complaining She told me not to bounce
